We’ve worked with Fortune 500 companies, halal brands, and nonprofits around the world, maintaining halal standards while delivering measurable results. The Program
Duration: 12 weeks + 1 final deliverables week
Commitment: Approximately 20 hours per week (flexible schedule)
Open Roles: 5 total
Location: Fully remote (work from anywhere in the in the world)
You’ll join one of five focused tracks and contribute directly to campaigns, research, product improvements, or strategy across multiple UMG projects. You might work on Muslim Ad Network campaigns, help improve UmmahJobs.com, contribute to UmmahCauses.org, support MasjidConnect partnerships, or work on other initiatives. You’ll gain real skills, build a real portfolio, and work alongside a remote global team pushing the Muslim digital economy forward.
Intern Tracks (Choose One)
1. Digital Marketing & Social Media Track
Gain hands-on experience in digital marketing by supporting live email campaigns, newsletter creation and distribution, refining ad creative, and managing content workflows across UMG’s portfolio of products. You’ll produce compelling assets that reach millions of Muslims globally by building skills in brand storytelling, audience engagement, and multi-platform content strategy. Contribute to our presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Schedule content, track engagement metrics, and spot trends early. You’ll learn what resonates with Muslim audiences and how to build community online while maintaining Islamic values.
Track Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of Canva, including photo and video editing.
- Basic understanding of social media platforms, content formats, and best posting practices.
2. Research & Partnerships Track
Help identify promising advertisers, publishers, and partnership opportunities for Muslim Ad Network and MasjidConnect. Organize data, prepare lead lists, and support business development strategy. You’ll gain insight into the $3 trillion halal economy and learn how Muslim businesses grow.
Track Requirements:
- Strong working knowledge of online workspace tools e.g. Sheet, Docs etc.
- Good understanding of online research methods.
What you’ll learn: Market research, business development, partnership strategy, data analysis, halal economy landscape, B2B outreach.
3. Web & Product Track
You’ll contribute to building and improving UMG’s platforms working across frontend and backend tasks, squashing bugs, and helping ship new features. Whether it’s refining user experience, optimizing performance, or supporting product workflows, your code will have a direct impact on communities from day one
Track Requirements:
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript fundamentals
- Familiarity with at least one frontend framework (Optional)
- Basic understanding of backend concepts
- Some hands-on experience with web or app development
- Actively uses AI tools to accelerate development and problem-solving
What you’ll learn: Product development and delivery, QA testing, UX/UI design, web technologies, agile development processes.
4. Operations Track
You’ll support the day-to-day workflows that keep UMG’s teams and platforms moving, from coordinating tasks and tracking deliverables to assisting leadership with scheduling, communications, and project follow-ups. You’ll also roll up your sleeves across a variety of operational tasks, jumping in wherever the team needs support most.
Track Requirements
- A proactive, assistant-minded attitude with a willingness to take ownership of tasks
- Strong time management skills and a disciplined, detail-oriented work ethic
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with productivity tools
What you’ll learn: How a mission-driven media and technology organization operates end-to-end, best practices in project coordination, team communication, and operational workflows and how to support and execute across multiple active initiatives simultaneously.
AdOps Track
You’ll assist in trafficking, monitoring, and optimizing programmatic ad campaigns across UMG’s platforms, supporting the team in ensuring ads are delivered accurately, on time, and to the right audiences.
Track Requirements
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- Basic familiarity with programmatic advertising concepts (DSPs, SSPs, ad targeting, etc.)
- Some hands-on experience with programmatic ads, whether through coursework, freelance, or personal exploration
- Comfortable working with data and picking up new ad tech tools quickly

Program Structure
Weeks 1-2: Onboarding & Foundation
- Meet the team and learn our systems
- Understand Ummah Media Group’s mission and our portfolio of products
- Get set up with tools, platforms, and access
- Complete orientation on Islamic business ethics
- Begin first project assignment with clear deliverables
Weeks 3-11: Core Work & Growth
- Execute on your track’s projects with increasing autonomy
- Weekly sync meetings with your mentor
- Contribute to real campaigns and products serving Muslim audiences
- Build your portfolio pieces with measurable outcomes
- Mid-program review and feedback session (Week 6)
Week 12: Wrap-Up & Showcase
- Complete final deliverables and polish your work
- Present your work to the team (showcase your impact)
- Receive comprehensive feedback and performance evaluation
- Discuss potential future opportunities (internship extensions, full-time roles)
Week 13: Final Deliverables & Transition
- Submit all final work and documentation
- Complete program evaluation and feedback survey
- Receive completion certificate and performance-based stipend
- Exit interview and career guidance session
