Assistant Imam & Youth Director

The Islamic Center of Oklahoma City seeks a full-time Assistant Imam and Youth Director to provide religious leadership and community programming to its congregation. This is a 60-month contract position with a 90-day probation period followed by board confirmation after 180 days.

**Religious Leadership Responsibilities:**

• Lead and share responsibility with the head Imam for delivering Friday Jumu'ah Khutbahs and Eid Khutbahs on a rotating schedule
• Lead daily prayers and coordinate prayer times across the center
• Officiate Islamic marriage ceremonies (Nikah)
• Oversee funeral services and guide families through Islamic burial practices
• Oversee annual religious programming including Ramadan activities, Eid celebrations, and Hajj preparation workshops

**Youth & Community Engagement:**

• Develop and lead youth initiatives in partnership with local community organizations
• Organize monthly family nights and community gatherings on Fridays
• Deliver weekly halaqahs (Islamic study circles) and spiritual talks for various age groups
• Provide weekly counseling office hours for congregation members seeking spiritual guidance
• Promote mosque programs and activities through email, WhatsApp, and social media

**Administrative & Coordination:**

• Coordinate with mosque administration on scheduling, communications, and logistics
• Maintain regular in-person presence (minimum four hours daily, five days per week)
• Mandatory attendance at Fajr (dawn) prayer

**Qualifications:**

• Minimum three years of professional experience in Islamic leadership, Imam services, or community organization roles
• Reliable personal transportation required
• US citizenship required; must pass federal background check
• Provide two professional references

**Terms & Benefits:**

• Four weeks (28 working days) combined annual vacation and sick leave
• Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually based on qualifications and experience
• Either party may terminate with 30 days written notice
