Development Coordinator (DMV)

Muslim Aid USA (MAUSA) is hiring a Development Coordinator to serve the Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia metropolitan area. This is a hybrid position centered on community engagement, grassroots fundraising, and faith-based outreach in support of the organization's humanitarian programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Represent MAUSA at community events throughout the DMV region
• Deliver Friday khutbahs regularly as an organizational spokesperson
• Build and maintain relationships with local masajid, imams, and community leaders
• Organize and execute grassroots fundraising campaigns
• Recruit, coordinate, and manage volunteers
• Manage logistics for 5–6 national conventions annually
• Promote seasonal giving campaigns, including Ramadan and Qurbani appeals
• Submit weekly activity reports to supervisors
• Engage in regional travel up to 80% and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends during peak fundraising periods

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Islamic Studies, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience in community fundraising, event organization, faith-based engagement, volunteer coordination, or Islamic public speaking
• Excellent public speaking skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver compelling fundraising appeals and khutbahs in Islamic settings
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
• Strong interpersonal and written communication abilities
• Willingness to travel regionally up to 80% and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required
