Director of Operations

CAIR-Houston seeks an experienced Director of Operations to lead the organization's day-to-day operations and strengthen its civil rights advocacy mission throughout Houston. Reporting to the President and Board Chair, this full-time salaried position is benefits-eligible and offers $70,000–$95,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Direct non-legal civil rights advocacy initiatives and represent the organization across the Houston community
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with community leaders and elected officials
• Oversee the design and delivery of community programs aligned with organizational priorities
• Manage organizational communications, marketing efforts, and social media presence
• Lead fundraising strategy and cultivate relationships with donors
• Serve as a public spokesperson and primary media representative for the organization
• Supervise and manage volunteer programs, internships, and community ambassador initiatives
• Provide regular progress reporting and updates to leadership
• Maintain flexible availability including evenings and weekends as needed

**Required Qualifications:**

• Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in civil rights advocacy, policy analysis, or community organizing

• Experience in policy development and implementation
