Executive Director

CAIR Connecticut (CAIR-CT, Inc.), the state's largest Muslim civil rights organization, seeks a full-time Executive Director to provide overall organizational leadership. The Executive Director will serve as the primary leader and public face of CAIR-CT, responsible for strategic direction and daily operations of the organization.

Key responsibilities include

• Developing and maintaining the chapter's educational and civic programs aligned with organizational mission and goals
• Leading all fundraising initiatives, including grant writing, major donor cultivation, and community support development
• Serving as the primary media spokesperson and public representative for the organization
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with community leaders, government officials, and interfaith partners
• Developing and executing the organization's comprehensive communications strategy across digital and traditional channels
• Conducting advocacy meetings with elected officials and government representatives to advance organizational priorities
• Attending all Board and Committee meetings, preparing materials and reports as needed
• Managing the annual organizational budget and delivering monthly financial reports to leadership and the Board

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree (graduate degree in Law, Social Work, or related field preferred), demonstrated experience in nonprofit management with proven board collaboration skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, strategic planning and fundraising expertise, valid Connecticut driver's license and personal vehicle, and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed. Current Connecticut residency or willingness to relocate is required.

The position is primarily office-based in Hartford, Connecticut, with remote work arrangements possible upon Board approval.
