Job Description

The International Association of Islamic Psychology (IAIP) is a nonprofit professional association headquartered in Reston, Virginia, dedicated to advancing Islamic psychology—an evidence-based approach to mental health and human flourishing rooted in Islamic principles and Muslim intellectual traditions. IAIP serves a global community of practitioners, researchers, and educators, with affiliations to leading Islamic academic institutions.

As Finance Manager, you will own IAIP's financial strategy and operational finance functions. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and implement annual operating budgets and multi-year financial strategies aligned with organizational growth and mission.
  • Conduct ongoing financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to inform executive and board decision-making.
  • Manage all accounting operations: income tracking, expense oversight, payroll processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close procedures.
  • Produce comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and performance summaries for leadership and board review.
  • Ensure full compliance with nonprofit tax law (IRS 501(c)(3) requirements), grant reporting obligations, donor accountability standards, and financial governance.
  • Administer digital payment systems (Stripe, PayPal) and reconcile all digital revenue streams including membership fees and donations.
  • Support fundraising strategy by providing financial modeling, donor database management, revenue projections, and grant budget preparation.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies, internal controls, and accounting procedures appropriate for a growing global organization.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in financial analysis, budget management, or nonprofit financial administration.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency with cloud accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero) and spreadsheet modeling (Excel, Google Sheets).
  • Experience with digital payment gateways (Stripe and/or PayPal).
  • CPA designation or prior nonprofit financial leadership experience is strongly preferred.

This is a full-time, remote-eligible position offering $72,000–$96,000 annually. IAIP provides a mission-driven, collaborative environment with work flexibility and strong professional development opportunities at the intersection of Islamic values and institutional finance.
