Food Service Worker (Cart)

The Halal Guys is a renowned Muslim-owned halal food business founded by Egyptian immigrants over 30 years ago, now a global brand. We are hiring Food Service Workers to operate our popular midtown Manhattan cart locations in New York City.

**Role Overview:**

As a Food Service Worker, you will be the face of The Halal Guys at our street-cart locations, preparing and serving high-quality halal food to our diverse customer base. You will work as part of a small, efficient team delivering the authentic experience that has made The Halal Guys an iconic destination.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Prepare fresh, high-quality food daily by hand following established recipes and quality standards
• Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems and process credit card transactions
• Provide friendly, welcoming customer service
• Maintain strict cleanliness and food safety standards
• Work efficiently and maintain composure during high-volume service periods
• Contribute to a positive team environment

**Requirements:**

• 0–2 years of food handling experience
• High school diploma or GED (some college coursework preferred)
• Basic math skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Food Handlers Certificate preferred; license fee reimbursement provided
• NYC Mobile Food Vendor License preferred; license fee reimbursement provided

**Compensation & Benefits:**

• $16.50 per hour plus tips
• $500 retention bonus after 6 months of continuous employment
