Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist

The Arab-American Family Support Center (AAFSC) is a New York City-based nonprofit organization dedicated to serving immigrant and refugee families from Arab, Muslim, Middle Eastern, North African, and South Asian communities. AAFSC provides comprehensive support through mental health services, family support programs, anti-violence initiatives, and legal assistance.

About the Role

As a Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Therapist, you will deliver intensive, home-based clinical family therapy to high-risk families referred by the New York City Administration for Children's Services. This is a full-time position with hybrid work arrangements — you'll spend 2–3 days per week at the Downtown Brooklyn office, with the remainder of your time conducting therapy in clients' homes and across the community.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive family strength-and-weakness assessments and implement FFT clinical model treatment
• Maintain caseload of approximately 8 active families, primarily serving youth aged 11–18 experiencing behavioral and emotional challenges
• Perform weekly home visits to assess child safety and family dynamics
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in multiple systems (Care4, PROMIS, Connections, Apricot)
• Complete ACS-required FASP documents within 5 business days
• Facilitate Family Team Conferences and case termination meetings
• Conduct intake screenings for domestic violence and trafficking
• Connect families with community resources including medical care, mental health services, childcare, and housing assistance
• Manage collateral relationships with ACS caseworkers, courts, schools, and medical providers
• Attend minimum 42 hours of required FFT model training annually

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or equivalent graduate degree in human services
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience
• Professional licensure or willingness to pursue licensure (LCSW, LMSW, LMFT, LMHC, or equivalent)
• Valid U.S. driver's license and work authorization
• Completion of pre-employment background check and fingerprint clearance
• Bilingual or multilingual fluency; fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Arabic, Bangla/Bengali, Russian, or Uzbek is strongly preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $76,634 annually
• 12 paid holidays and 12 safe-and-sick days annually
