Job Description

Freelance fundraising, partnerships, and growth consultancy role with a UK-registered Islamic women's educational charity dedicated to Qur'anic learning and community. Working approximately one day per week on flexible basis for an initial three-month period.

Role responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the Qur'an Champions and Sustainers donor programmes, including supporter journey design, recruitment of regular donors, stewardship of existing supporters, and consistent follow-up
  • Build and maintain a prioritized grants pipeline with funding calendar and evidence bank; draft or coordinate grant applications and reports with team members
  • Identify, cultivate, and advance partnerships with educators, community organizations, businesses, funders, and major supporters
  • Develop a major-donor and high-value supporter strategy including prospect research, tailored asks, stewardship, and founder-led conversations
  • Connect organizational events, programmes, publications, and campaigns to meaningful next steps (ongoing learning, regular giving, partnerships, deeper involvement)
  • Collaborate with the Operations Lead to ensure fundraising commitments, timelines, budgets, and delivery capacity remain aligned
  • Provide monthly pipeline reports covering pipeline value, applications in progress, results, next actions, and key risks

Success in first three months

  • Focused 90-day income plan with priority routes identified
  • Active grants, partnerships, and major-supporter pipeline with clear owners, deadlines, and next actions
  • Qur'an Champions and Sustainers programmes ready, launched, or significantly progressed
  • Multiple high-fit grant applications, partnership conversations, and donor asks in motion
  • Improved organizational visibility over projected income and supporting evidence

Required qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, business development, or audience/supporter growth, ideally in charity, education, or community settings
  • Strong writing and relationship-building skills with ability to make clear asks and follow up consistently
  • Sound judgement about organizational priorities and capacity constraints
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with founder, operations colleagues, trustees, and freelancers
  • Respect for the Qur'an-centred mission and organizational values (sincerity, reliability, good judgement, respectful communication, care for mission)

To apply, submit CV and short statement covering motivation, relevant experience, and planned key actions for the role. Engagement will be reviewed at three months before any extension or increase.
