Graphic Designer / Apparel Artist
Job Description
Apricot International, a nonprofit sourcing firm connecting displaced and underserved professionals from Palestine and the MENA region with global employment, is hiring a freelance graphic designer/apparel artist for an independent apparel creator launching an authentic, hand-crafted clothing line.
You will work on a fixed-term project-based contract with target completion February–March 2027, managing approximately five designs per month at your own pace. You report to the founder and creative lead.
**Your Core Work:**
Convert approximately 75–80 source materials—hand-drawn sketches and reference photographs—into high-resolution, print-ready artwork suitable for t-shirts and hoodies. Your responsibilities include: faithfully recreating image-based designs from photos while maintaining accuracy to the original artistic intent; handling roughly 35–40 text-based designs with typography selection and professional layout; delivering each design in dual versions (optimized for light and dark garments); and collaborating via email, Dropbox, and calls for feedback and updates.
**What You Bring:**
- Strong portfolio demonstrating illustration skills and faithful artwork recreation from references
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and/or Photoshop (or equivalent vector/raster tools)
- Expertise in photo-to-vector conversion—tracing, refining, and simplifying while preserving likeness
- Ability to deliver PNG/JPEG files plus vector formats (AI, SVG, PDF)
- Basic English communication for briefs and status updates
**Helpful But Not Required:**
Apparel graphics experience; tattoo flash or print reproduction background; color separation capability; or creative input on 5–10 open-interpretation designs.
**Engagement Model:**
You contract directly with Apricot, which manages invoicing, payroll, and administration. Submit a proposal with per-design rates across three tiers (text-only, close recreation, open interpretation) plus a total project estimate. Sample designs expected within days to two weeks of starting; check-ins at month one and month three.
**Location:** Remote, ideally candidates based in Palestine.
