Head of Policy and Advocacy

Muslim Charities Forum (MCF) is the leading representative organisation for British Muslim charities, headquartered near Waterloo in London SE1. We are seeking an experienced Head of Policy and Advocacy to lead our strategic policy, advocacy, and research initiatives.

**About the Role**

This is a senior strategic position responsible for shaping and implementing MCF's policy direction and advocacy work. You will be a high-profile representative of Muslim-led charitable organisations, engaging directly with government ministers, devolved authorities, and senior stakeholders across public and civil society to advocate for the interests and concerns of British Muslim charities and communities.

**Key Responsibilities**

• Develop and drive the long-term strategic vision for MCF's policy and advocacy programme
• Build a robust evidence base to support MCF's advocacy positions and research publications
• Proactively liaise with central government, local authorities, devolved administrations, and regional mayors on policy issues affecting Muslim charities
• Formally represent Muslim-led organisations in government policy development and decision-making forums
• Work collaboratively with MCF's Communications, Partnerships, and Sector Capacity teams to ensure coordinated organisational impact
• Represent MCF at a senior level in charitable, public, and political settings

**About You**

You will have substantial senior-level experience in policy, advocacy, or related strategic leadership. MCF particularly welcomes applications from candidates with lived experience of marginalisation and demonstrated understanding of Islamic values and principles.

**Position Details**

• **Contract**: Fixed-term, 3 years
• **Hours**: Full-time, 35 hours per week (4 days office-based in London SE1, 1 day remote)
• **Salary**: £42,000–£45,000 per annum
• **Location**: London SE1, UK
