
Key Responsibilities:
Salah / Imam Leadership
• Daily Imam for Salah: Lead the congregation in Jahriyya (vocalized) prayers, specifically Fajr, Maghrib, and Isha, delivering beautiful, accurate, and inspiring recitation.
• Imam for Taraweeh: Lead the Taraweeh prayers during Ramadan, including 20 Rak’as and completion of the Qur’an by the 29th of Ramadan.
• Work with the Religious Director to organize and lead programs such as Qur’an nights, Qur’an competitions, Tafsir classes, and seasonal programs.
• Khutbahs & Islamic Programs: Deliver 1–2 Friday khutbahs per month and support Tafsir classes, Quran reflections, youth reminders, and family educational programs in coordination with the Religious Director.
Program Leadership & Administration
• Program Oversight: Oversee the Qur’an memorization (Hifz) program with a strong focus on student growth, program quality, curriculum development, and continuous improvement.
• Teacher Management: Assess, train, mentor, and evaluate Qur’an teachers to maintain a strong standard of education across the academy.
• Community Programming: Conduct Qur’an-related Tafsir classes and study circles for different age groups in coordination with the Religious Director and Events Committee.
• Record Keeping: Maintain organized administrative systems, using technology to track student attendance, memorization progress, and academic development.
Teaching & Student Engagement
• Instruction: Teach Qur’an memorization (Ḥifẓ) with proper tajweed, ensuring accurate recitation and pronunciation.
• Student Development: Adapt teaching methods to support students at different levels, from beginners to advanced memorizers.
• Motivation: Help students remain engaged, motivated, and steadily progressing in their Quranic journey.
• Substitute Teaching: Step in to teach Qur’an reading (Nazirah) classes as needed.
Tracking & Parent Communication
• Evaluations: Monitor and assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide clear, structured feedback to students and families.
• Parent Relations: Build strong, collaborative relationships with parents through regular communication and consistent progress updates.
Qualifications
Education & Core Competencies
• Qur'an Mastery: Complete memorization of the Qur'an (Hafiz/Hafiza)
• Certification: Must hold an Ijaza in at least one mode of recitation
• Academic Background: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Qur’anic Studies, Islamic Studies, Religious Education, Arabic, or a related field
• Tajweed Expertise: Excellent recitation with proper Tajweed and the ability to effectively teach formal Tajweed texts
Experience & Skills
• Teaching Experience: 5+ years of teaching experience, ideally with children, youth, and adults
• Leadership Experience: Experience managing a team or overseeing educational programs, including teacher support and curriculum development
• Language: Fluency in English required. Arabic or Urdu proficiency is a strong plus
• Technology: Comfortable using modern technology for instruction, attendance tracking, and program administration
