Local Michigan Administrator & Campaigns Coordinator

CAIR Action (the 501(c)(4) advocacy arm of the Council on American-Islamic Relations) seeks a dedicated administrator and campaigns coordinator to establish and lead the organization's grassroots presence throughout Michigan.

Role Overview

You will serve as CAIR Action's primary on-the-ground representative in Michigan, balancing infrastructure development with active civic engagement. This role combines administrative leadership with community organizing to build the organization's local capacity.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Operations

• Establish and manage the Michigan office infrastructure, facilities, and operations
• Maintain organizational records and documentation
• Coordinate schedules, meetings, and logistics
• Track and report on campaign metrics, volunteer activity, and civic engagement outcomes

Campaigns & Community Engagement

• Cultivate and strengthen relationships with mosques, Muslim community organizations, and grassroots leaders across Michigan's major cities
• Organize and facilitate public forums, town halls, and voter mobilization events
• Recruit, train, and manage volunteers for canvassing, phone banking, and field operations
• Represent CAIR Action at community events and public forums
• Support fundraising initiatives and donor relationship development
• Create and distribute campaign outreach materials

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of experience in nonprofit operations, political campaigns, community organizing, or civic engagement
• Strong project management and organizational abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency with Google Workspace, Zoom, and CRM platforms
• Deep knowledge of Michigan's Muslim communities and local political landscape
• Willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Field operations or campaign management experience
