Manager, Risk Analytic

ROLE OVERVIEW

Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad seeks an experienced Risk Analytics Manager for its Risk Management Department at the Kuala Lumpur headquarters. This full-time position requires technical expertise in risk modelling and analytics, with focus on regulatory compliance under Basel and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) frameworks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and review risk management methodologies to align with evolving regulatory standards
• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for new products, product variations, and programme proposals
• Provide technical support and guidance on risk analysis approaches and standardised reporting across the Risk Management Department
• Prepare and support regulatory submissions to BNM and other relevant authorities
• Review and validate risk models for theoretical soundness and practical applicability
• Implement new regulatory requirements and deploy risk-related systems and infrastructure
• Develop macroeconomic variables and stress-testing models for MFRS 9 expected credit loss calculations
• Prepare analytical reports and presentations for senior governance committees (ALCO, MRCC, GMEC, BRC)
• Support departmental management with operational improvements and process enhancements

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's degree in quantitative discipline: statistics, mathematics, economics, accounting, actuarial science, or finance
• Minimum 7 years' professional experience in banking or financial services
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and data visualisation tools (Power BI)
• Strong programming capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivated with strong teamwork and adaptability
• High numeracy and meticulous attention to detail
