Meat Department Manager – Retail

Westgate Halal Meat & Deli, a halal butcher and deli shop in west Edmonton, is hiring two Meat Department Managers for permanent full-time positions.

**Role Overview:**

As Meat Department Manager, you will oversee all operational aspects of the meat and deli department, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and high customer satisfaction in a fast-paced retail environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

• Direct daily meat department operations and manage staff assignments across the team
• Evaluate existing workflows and implement operational improvements
• Analyze market research and consumer demand to determine merchandise selection and assortment
• Implement and maintain pricing policies aligned with business objectives
• Procure goods from suppliers to maintain inventory levels and product quality standards
• Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote the meat and deli department
• Manage departmental budget and control expenses to optimize profitability
• Assess staffing requirements and recruit, onboard, and supervise department team members
• Resolve customer complaints and supply chain issues promptly and professionally
• Maintain high standards of food safety, product quality, and customer service

**Requirements & Qualifications:**

• Secondary school graduation certificate (minimum education level)
• 1–7 months of relevant experience in meat department or food retail management
• Fluency in English (written and oral communication)
• Legal work authorization in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work permit holder)
• Strong efficiency, positive attitude, and excellent time management skills
• Client-focused approach with excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
• Flexibility with shift scheduling, organizational skills, patience, and resourcefulness

**What's Offered:**

• Permanent full-time position
• $45.00 per hour, 40 hours per week
• Flexible shift options (mornings, days, evenings, nights, and weekends)
