Job Description
IQRA Network is an online Islamic education organization founded in 2017, headquartered in Massachusetts with a satellite office in Cairo, Egypt. They recruit qualified Quran and Islamic studies teachers to deliver instruction to a diverse, global community of Muslim learners of all ages through one-on-one online sessions.
**Role Overview**
You will serve as an Online Quran Teacher, delivering remote instruction in Quranic and Islamic studies through video-conferencing platforms. This position offers flexible scheduling (part-time or full-time options available) and is based in Egypt, though fully remote.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and deliver Quranic and Islamic studies curricula with an Islamic perspective, integrating Islamic morals and values throughout each lesson
- Employ diverse instructional methodologies including demonstrations, guided discussions, recitation practice, and Socratic questioning to maximize student engagement
- Develop structured lesson plans aligned with learning objectives and create supplementary resources such as projects and homework assignments
- Maintain detailed grade books, conduct regular student assessments, and produce comprehensive progress reports for each learner
- Communicate regularly with parents and IQRA staff regarding student progress, challenges, and achievements
- Participate in scheduled performance review meetings with IQRA mentors to discuss metrics and receive professional feedback
- Engage in ongoing teacher training and Islamic professional development programs
- Attend regular team meetings with directors and senior staff to align with organizational goals
**Requirements & Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Islamic studies or a related field
- 2–3 years of teaching experience (preferred)
- Full memorization of the Holy Quran (Hafiz) with sound, applied knowledge of Tajweed (rules of Quranic recitation)
- Fluent English communication, both written and spoken
- Demonstrated proficiency with video-conferencing platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, or similar)
- Strong commitment to and advocacy for Islamic education
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and access to a quiet, dedicated teaching space
- Willingness to teach during evening and night hours to serve students in Western time zones (preferred)
