Part-Time Security Officer (Armed)

The Muslim Association of Lehigh Valley (MALV) is seeking part-time security officers to maintain a safe and welcoming environment across their mosque and community facilities. You will provide on-site security during religious services (especially Friday Jumu'ah prayers), evening programs, weekend activities, special events, and community gatherings.

Key responsibilities include patrolling mosque property and grounds, maintaining a visible security presence during services, controlling access points and monitoring visitor entry, responding to emergencies and suspicious activities, coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency responders, managing crowd control during large gatherings, conducting security inspections, preparing incident reports, and ensuring compliance with organizational safety procedures. You must maintain confidentiality regarding security and operational matters.

The schedule is flexible and covers Friday prayers, evenings, weekends, early mornings, and holidays as needed.

Minimum qualifications: high school diploma or GED, minimum age 21, valid Pennsylvania driver's license, legal work authorization in the US, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to stand and patrol for extended periods. Firearm requirements include a valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms (LTCF), all certifications and licenses required by Pennsylvania law for armed security personnel, successful completion of all required background investigations and screening, demonstrated firearm proficiency and safe handling, and compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local firearms laws.

Preferred qualifications: prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, corrections, or emergency services; CPR, AED, and First Aid certification; experience with faith-based organizations or community centers; and knowledge of emergency response and incident management.

Employment is contingent on satisfactory completion of criminal background check, child abuse clearance, FBI fingerprint clearance (if required), reference verification, and additional MALV screening.
