Redacteur Levensbeschouwing (Religion & Worldviews Editor)

Join NTR (Stichting NTR), the Dutch public broadcaster, as a Religion & Worldviews Editor. This fixed-term editorial role (32 hours/week, September–December 2026) supports two television programmes — "Iedereen Verlicht" and "Culture Bites" — that explore spirituality, faith communities, and diverse philosophies across the Netherlands, with substantial coverage of Islamic communities and Muslim perspectives.

About the Role

You will discover and develop compelling human stories representing diverse religious and cultural communities. Key responsibilities include:

• Actively seeking new voices and perspectives from Hindu and Muslim communities across the Netherlands
• Building trust with community members through respectful, patient outreach and in-person contact
• Identifying the most relevant and representative guests and contributors for each episode
• Finding inspiring individuals who can humanise and personalise programme themes for a broad Dutch audience
• Contributing to editorial strategy ensuring authentic Islamic community representation

Requirements

• Genuine curiosity and demonstrated civic engagement
• Documented cultural affinity with Hinduism or Islam (cultural closeness essential; theological expertise not required)
• Ability to communicate respectfully and empathetically across diverse backgrounds
• Strong networking skills within religious and cultural communities nationwide
• Excellent spoken and written Dutch
• Advantage: Arabic, Farsi, Turkish, or Hindi proficiency to reach Muslim and South Asian communities
