What This Role Is
You'll be the design partner to our founder — not a ticket-taker. We design before we code, iterating on designs until they're right, because changing a design is cheap and changing code is not.
How You'll Work
- Iterate live and fast — sketching while we talk, quick turnaround in hours, not disappearing for days and returning something new
- Interview our founder to extract 7 years of user feedback stored in his head — much of the product's knowledge lives there, and we need someone who asks the right questions to dig it out
- Help find starting points when we're stuck — when we can't picture the beginning of a solution, you draw three quick directions so we have something to react to
- We review designs together frequently (daily or near-daily); it's not micromanagement, it's how small teams design fast
What You'll Own
- Diagram the current UX: our audiences and the flow of each feature as users actually walk it today
- Extend the flow map in meetings — when we discuss a change, we add branches live to show how a new feature fits
- Keep the flow map living as features ship
- Stay close to real customers — learn directly from how masjid admins and community members use the existing system
- Know where data lives — identify where to place tests to collect usage data, and design A/B tests to answer real questions
- Let evidence sharpen intuition — bring taste and craft, and check both against what the data and users say
What You Get
- A product with real users, real Ummah focused mission, to get every Masjid relying on safe Ummah tech.
- Full flexibility on hours — we care about output, not when you sit
