NTR, the Dutch public broadcaster, is seeking a Social Media Editor (Arabic) for a fixed-term, part-time position (32 hours per week, September 1–December 31, 2026) with the "Net in Nederland" platform — a digital hub within the NPO that produces original content for and about Arabic-speaking newcomers and refugees in the Netherlands. The audience is primarily from Muslim-majority countries, and the platform serves as a trusted media resource for that community.
You will manage and grow the platform's social media presence, creating and distributing videos, reels, and articles tailored to the interests and lived experiences of the Arabic-speaking newcomer audience. Your responsibilities include building and maintaining content calendars, collaborating with colleagues on original and timely online stories, monitoring news developments to ensure representative coverage, editing team-produced content, conducting research and background interviews, and writing full online articles in both Arabic and Dutch.
Requirements: Genuine interest in or lived experience with newcomer or refugee communities; fluent Arabic (spoken and written) and Dutch at C1 level minimum; ability to work both collaboratively and independently; proficiency in Adobe Premiere and Photoshop; verifiable media experience or relevant formal education in journalism or media; strong organizational and results-oriented approach; and journalistic talent for crafting compelling, impactful online narratives.
Compensation: Salary aligns with CAO Omroeppersoneel class F, with benefits including a 6% December bonus, 8% holiday allowance, travel reimbursement, five or more weeks annual leave, annual salary progression, collective pension scheme, and employer-covered health insurance. Work arrangement is hybrid with office presence in Hilversum. Application deadline: August 13, 2026.
