Female Quran Teacher (Full-Time)

The Islamic Community Center of Laurel (Maryland) is seeking a full-time Female Quran Teacher to join its educational programs. The center is a nonprofit serving the local Muslim community with an elementary school, community center, and religious education services.

Role Overview

You will teach Quranic studies and Arabic language to children ages 3–11, instructing students in Noorani Qaida, Juz Amma, and full Quran recitation with proper Tajweed (correct pronunciation and phonetic rules).

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging Quran lessons aligned with age-appropriate learning levels
• Teach Arabic grammar, syntax, and vocabulary as foundations for Quranic understanding
• Instruct students in Tajweed rules and proper Quranic recitation
• Create a supportive, faith-centered learning environment for young learners
• Track student progress and communicate with families about their development

Requirements & Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Arabic language and Islamic studies
• Demonstrated expertise in Quranic instruction and Tajweed
• Bachelor's degree or professional certification in Islamic Studies, Arabic Language, or Education (or equivalent Quranic training background)
• Experience teaching children ages 3–11 (preferred)
• On-site presence at the Laurel, MD facility
